Great post Eric. Unfortunately I'm in the exact same situation you described above regarding ecommerce owners. Content to them is definately not worth the time or effort, and in terms of links, I'm told "quantity over quality". It's very difficult to deal with because my mantra is the exact opposite, but then, I have rent to pay...
