Still, the most important question "Will Flash rank now?" remains unanswered.

My team didn't think that was the most important question right now. What we wanted to know was how Google indexes the links contained within Flash movies, becuase now that is confirmed we can start designing new ways to implement flash in the majority of usage cases which make the user and search engine experience better.

Flash indexing links: one of our developers had a comment similar to @AntiSpam's (that comment is on the actual blog post)

"it's cool that someone is testing this out, but they're using an old version of Flash (MX) with Actionscript 2 programming. Actionscript 3 does not use the getURL command, nor can you place the Actionscript right on a movieclip."

It seems peculiar that on the one hand Google is talking about penalizing sites for slow loading  landing pages and on the other they are encouraging (with a little push from Adobe) more flash.

Mixed signals. This chasing the Google donkey around to get a hand on it is getting old. It stifles creativity in my mind. And, quite frankly, I'm tired of having to think about the search engines everytime I have an idea for my sites. I'm starting to think less about them and I feel much better about what I create.
